Just wanted to let everybody know that I took my NCLEX nursing boards on Wednesday and I found out on Friday that I passed!!!!!   I am now officially a Registered Nurse!!  I will be continuing my position at Roger Williams Medical Center on the geri psych unit. I will be working three days and one evening per week and every other weekend.  I realized recently  that I have accomplished all the things I have been working on since high school, and now it's time to set up a new list of goals.  :)

A hard rock album with soft undertones by the hit European sensation, Southmead Hospital.  Militant lesbians, Russian war heroes, and RNA particles will particularly enjoy this album, since it is apparently about them!  Chart toppers include Greece National Under 19 Football Team, and the always rousing Severe Thunderstorm Watch!

So, things have been busy.  Unfortunately, busy enough that I've hurt a few feelings by not being around, but I'm hoping things will be okay.  Classes end in three weeks, and I am working out a schedule to get all of my projects done on time.  Classes are pretty good, not too hard, leadership class is kinda boring and pointless sometimes.

I am starting to get excited about graduation and stuff.  I am working out details  with my manager right now, and hopefully I will have a position on the geriatric psychiatric unit as a graduate nurse and then as a registered nurse after I pass my boards.  I am also going on a trip to the dominican republic to do health clinics for two weeks at the beginning of January.  I am also excited that Dave and I will be moving in together sometime in December or January. So alot of change, but alot of good.

So my car died last friday...the mechanic found that the cylinders lost most to all compression, and would not be sufficient to run the car. Since the car has 168,000 miles on it, and it has other issues, it's not worth fixing, so we're going to scrap it for parts and get another car.

I'm looking to spend 5,000 or less, looking towards maybe a toyota corolla (I've heard good things about them) or a saturn (i've had two and I love them). I may also look at volvos.

So, I wanted to hear people's suggestions for cars; things they've heard, cars they've driven, stuff like that, anything good or bad. Thanks!

OMG Kate updates again!
Oh, the excitement..
Well, the party went really well, alot of people came, and hopefully we'll have another one soon, maybe the end of august or so. Dave and I have been on the calendar trying to figure out these next two months, because we want to go to horse shows (hopefuly two, at least one), go camping with friends, and other stuff that we're trying to squeeze in. So far it's been a great summer though. The house is really clean, and it's nice to come home to everyday. I'm not minding the hot/humid weather too much because I work all day in the AC and then come home and exercise then go in the pool. Good stuff. Hope everyone's having a good summer.

Hello from CT
Sorry about not posting in awhile, before, my excuse was that I saw everyone every day and we talked about what was going on, but now that everyone is scattered across New England and beyond, I found this is a good way to keep in touch.

Things are going very well, I'm really happy this summer, which is a good thing. I think seeing Dave every day helps alot. I'm working five days a week at the Brick Oven, and pulling in some decent cash, especially Friday nights (100 this week, yay). I'm trying to save money to go to horse shows this summer, one in june, july and august, and then the RI finals. I already went to the one in June last Sunday, and did really good, although I still attribute most of that to my horse, Quinn. He's a steady guy, never refuses a jump, and has a huge stride so I never have to worry about getting down the lines. We ended up winning all our jumping classes and getting second in the two flat classes (he was a little wired by that point, and my friend Wendy's horse Lilly is just beautiful on the flat, so she deserved the blues). I also won my RI adult-mini medal, so I get to go to the finals, which are on Labor Day. So overall alot of fun, I was just happy to be out there after two years without showing.

Oh, also we now have eleven pets in the condo. Two cats, four betta fish, two guarmis (sp?), one angel fish, and two cool guppies (bonnie and clyde). Two of the bettas have private tanks, one tank holds the guppies and one of the more placid bettas, and the big tank has the two guarmis, the angel, and the brave betta fish, who is doing really well in a tank that size. Good thing nine of the pets can't run around the house, or we might have a problem.

By the way, congrats to Liz on the publishing and starting her job, congrats to Stacey for that job offer, hopefully I didn't forget anyone. Hope everyone is having a good summer!

THanks for all your thoughts and prayers. My friend maggie has been accepted to the rehab. they wanted for her, and although she isn't awake yet, a neurologist who saw her yesterday said she showed signs of the brain stem transmitting information to the brain, which is good. Her mom writes:
FRIDAY, MAY 26, 2006 02:57 PM, EDT

Can it be that what I have been hoping for has happened? Maggie is going at 4pm to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. This place is the best place for her to have a chance of recovery.

I am hoping that the Spaulding website gives directions how to get there, I know that they allow visitors, but until I get there, I cannot tell you more, except that I would be happy for those who would like to come and visit and learn more about her rehabilitation process. I will let you know what we need as this story continues.

Blessed be, Nancy

Thanks again guys

I wanted to ask all of you a favor. My friend Maggie Worthen from high school had a stroke a couple weeks ago and is in a coma up at a hospital in Massachusetts. They are hoping to move her to Spaulding Rehab. Facility in Cambridge. This facility is one of the best for helping people wake up from comas and have successful recoveries. For those of you who pray or wouldn't mind, can you please pray that Maggie gets admitted to this rehab, also please pray for Maggie, her mother Nancy, her boyfriend Josh, and Maggie's dad Paul. Also for her friends and family. Thank you guys so much! If you want to see how she is doing, there is a website. www.caringbridges.org click on 'visit a caring bridges site' and then type in margaretworthen. Thanks guys, this really means a lot.
